The short answer
Many UK airports are on the APHA list for charter pet arrivals, including Biggin Hill, Farnborough, London Luton, London Stansted, Oxford and Gatwick. RAF Northolt, Southend, Exeter, Aberdeen, Inverness and Prestwick did not appear when we checked on 20 October 2026. The list pairs airports with carriers and changes often.
If your dog is coming into England or Scotland on a private charter, the arrival airport has to be on the approved list published by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA). Here is what the list contained when we read it on 20 October 2026 (the page had been updated on 9 October).
Airports named in the charter section
Biggin Hill, Farnborough, London Luton, London Stansted, London Oxford, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Lydd, Blackbushe and Bournemouth.
Not on the list when we checked
RAF Northolt, Southend, Exeter, Aberdeen, Inverness and Prestwick did not appear. That does not necessarily mean they will never be approved, only that we would not plan a pet arrival there without checking directly.
Why you cannot rely on a list of airports
- Each charter carrier is listed against specific airports, so the airport alone is not enough: the carrier flying you must also be approved for it
- Some entries have bracketed labels that the page does not explain, such as handling or reception facilities
- Cardiff appears in the charter list even though the same publication says there are no approved routes to Wales, so ask before planning a landing in Wales
- The publication logged about 40 updates between January and 9 October 2026, roughly 20 of them since June
What we do
We check the list for your actual flight and carrier before we quote, and again before the day. You do not need to read the list yourself, but now you know why we ask early which airport you want to land at. See the full entering Great Britain rules and bringing your dog home.
Rules change. Everything here was checked against official sources on 20 October 2026. Always confirm the current rules for your route; we do it for you when you enquire.
