Costs

How much does it cost to fly with a pet on a private jet?

You pay for the aircraft and the route. Here is what drives the price, and examples from flights we have arranged.

In short

A private flight is priced by the aircraft, the distance and the airports, not per passenger and not per pet. On flights we have arranged, a two-hour hop to Spain or France on a light jet cost around £12,000 to £13,000 for the whole aircraft, and larger aircraft and longer routes cost more. Ask us for a quote and you get one inclusive figure.

What decides the price

  • The aircraft. Smaller aircraft cost less than larger ones. Your pet's size may decide the smallest aircraft that is comfortable.
  • The distance and flight time. Fuel, crew time and airport charges all follow the route.
  • The airports. Landing, handling and any arrival-check charges differ from airport to airport.
  • The date. Weekends, school holidays and big events are busier.
  • One way or return. A return can work out better value than two one-ways, and flexible dates can open cheaper options.

Examples are anonymised and rounded from flights Charter-A has arranged. They are not a quotation: your price depends on the aircraft, the route, the date and the airports. They show the figure for the whole aircraft, not a price per person or per pet.

What is not in the price

  • Your vet's fees for the microchip, vaccinations and health certificate
  • Any government fees for the certificate or entry, where they apply
  • Ground transport to and from the airfield, which we can arrange at cost
  • Your own travel insurance

VAT

A flight that lands in another country, such as Spain or France, is zero-rated for UK VAT, so no VAT is added. A flight between two UK airports on a smaller aircraft carries VAT at 20%, shown separately in your quote. Every quote shows the VAT line clearly.

If the weather stops the flight

If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing.
