Rules change. Entry rules for pets are set by each country and can change at short notice. This page was checked on 20 October 2026. Charter-A confirms the rules for your exact route and dates when you book, and you should always check the official source linked on the page.
What applies
- Jersey and Guernsey: pets can travel with their owners on a private boat or plane, but you must not visit a foreign port on the way (Guernsey excludes Northern Ireland and Ireland from that rule).
- Isle of Man: pets from the Channel Islands can come by private boat with no health requirements; pets from the EU cannot land directly by private boat or private aircraft.
- Ireland: the Department generally cannot facilitate the entry of private yachts carrying pets that have been in non-EU countries.
Coming back to the UK
- Great Britain: you can only bring a pet in by private boat if you are travelling from Ireland or Northern Ireland.
Good to know
This is a different rule from private aircraft.
Flying on a private charter means your pet stays with you in the cabin. We plan the arrival airport around the checks your route needs. See how it works or ask us for a quote.
