What applies
- GOV.UK: export health certificate (EHC) and export application form (EXA) for each non-EU destination; official vet checks identification and health.
- Check the destination's rules, permits, approved airports and breed bans well ahead (some take 6+ months).
- A pet on a private flight needs permission to land at the specific airport.
Coming back to the UK
- Return depends on the country: Part 1 (AHC/passport/GB certificate), Part 2 (GB pet health certificate), not listed (GB certificate + blood test).
- Dogs: tapeworm treatment 24 hours to 5 days before arrival.
Good to know
Examples with their own strict systems (not yet confirmed: -): Australia, New Zealand, Japan.
Flying on a private charter means your pet stays with you in the cabin. We plan the arrival airport around the checks your route needs. See how it works or ask us for a quote.
